Without regulation, the bitcoin market will continue to have volatile booms and busts because fraud is easy when there is no one forcing you to be honest.

What Republicans are really saying is: “Let’s shovel billions of US dollars, the world’s reserve currency, to bitcoin entrepreneurs. Then they will have real money, and the US government will be left with sham currency which is guaranteed to go bust someday.”
