i feel like u underestimate how large of a barrier of entry "building a pc" is, budget prebuilts exist for a reason

its not even just "building a pc", choosing the parts is already too much work for a lot of people who lack the knowledge required to do so

idk i never had an issue with size but some people seem to like those mini pcs! pre-built pcs are also a market that exists for a reason, some people just dont want to build a pc, of course doing it urself is always gonna be better!

"might as well grab a PC" is kind of true, u can get like the same performance in a pre-built for 600 to 700 bucks... i guess the steam machine would still make sense if size was important
