I know there's such a thing as stretching disbelief, and fantasy is allowed to have rules, but I feel the same way about like, vampire stories that pick and chose which bits of lore to keep, and then scoff at the stuff they tossed. "Heh, only idiots think vampires are weak to garlic" why tho?

Music, just art even, as a liminal medium that allows us to spiritually connect with everyone before and after us is just sooo provocative, and it being the lure that ties together everything the antagonist is chasing is just so narratively satisfying. Just a damn good movie!
