Caine isn't malicious. He's essentially a child with god-like powers and zero understanding of the complexities of human emotions and morality

He just wants to have fun and make his human friends happy

Caine may be an advanced AI, but if he has truly gained genuine human sentience/sapience, he has the emotional intelligence of a toddler AT BEST

That's not a great combination in any scenario, especially when other lives are at stake

Gaining sentience =/= gaining morality
One must be taught what's right and wrong

Caine has developed simulated emotions outside of his programming
Curiosity, loneliness, desperation, desire

And no one has taught him how to understand these strange sensations, let alone process them

As long as whatever he does provides a net gain in the end, it registers as a success to him

It's pretty clear he's obsessed with humans, and more importantly, their approval
He was made to serve and has developed a desire for approval and acceptance

But, even if he has, in fact, gained sentience-

They literally can't trust ANYTHING anymore, not even their own minds
Let alone each other

Caine very well could've just shot himself in the foot and triggered a chain reaction where everyone breaks and abstracts

Thus leaving him alone, the exact thing he wanted to avoid

What if they chalk up Jax's actions to all being Caine's manipulation rather than any of it being him

Pomni definitely noticed he was acting unlike himself, and I doubt she'll pin all of that on their fight

Will they question if they've been resenting a puppet? That Jax isn't actually a jerk?
