EXTREME TRAIN GLEE AFTER AN HOUR-PLUS IN THE RAIN
November 1, 2025 at 5:44 PM
Three opposed to the amendment, Lee, Calendino, Dhaliwal. Amendment passes
Back to main motion.
Dhaliwal asks staff to eliminate District R9 in table 1 (see image)

GM planning says it makes sense, would just have to make correlated changes to OCP. Obvious in high density.
No one opposed, passes.

No transmission lines leading into Boundary Rd substation - problem bc lines are how energy gets to substation. Working with city to get transmission lines to properties

Current demand from all customers in Burnaby is 550 MVA, at peak - 'the worst day of the year' when cold.

We're starting with BC Hydro's delegation. They presented in '24 and got grilled by council.
They're updating on the work they've done to meet the needs of Bby.
Four out of six units of Site C are online. When complete, will generate enough electricity for about 500k homes.

Couple notes from Burnaby City Hall tonight!
March 26, 2025 at 12:40 AM
Dhaliwal is speaking strongly against the third bullet point, says it's just a way to talk about other things like parking minimums. Wants to cut 3rd bullet point
Gu says the amendment doesn't make sense if Dhaliwal as a point of order.
Calendino says that's not a point of order, that's an opinion.
March 12, 2025 at 1:12 AM
Long discussion on these inclusionary rental requirements. The original motion failed, and Coun. Alison Gu's new motion is now up for discussion.
Coun. Sav Dhaliwal is opposed.
There are some serious bureaucratic/procedural complexities going on here and this is Not The Format to try explain...
March 12, 2025 at 1:02 AM
We're Burnaby council watching remotely tonight bc it's been a chaotic month on my end.

There's some updates to Burnaby's density bonus policy and inclusionary zoning so... Nerds get ready. Posts will be sporadic tho.
