Just posting some Facebook messages where I talk to my mom about why I unfriended Trump voters (including family) and then my sister's response to being quietly unfriended on FB. All I did was unfriend people, I've never said anything about hate. I don't get the victim mentality.
Me: I swept off all the people I knew were trump supporters on Facebook too in case I slip and mention the kids being trans on there. It's not that I hate anybody, I just can't risk it. Especially if the Florida style laws get set nationally. Mom: I don't even know what that means. Did you delete any family? Me: Yes Mom: Like who and why? They all know about the kids Me: I only told and grandma? Who did you tell? you and her are the only ones I kept. Mom: Why the others don't care. They are all family and that's what matters Me: If they knew and still did those pro trump posts, why would I ever trust them? To actively campaign against my kids... I thought they didn't know, I was giving them the benefit of the doubt Mom: Everyone has different opinions that shouldn't make you not trust them. They are still your family and love you. It's wasn't against the kids or the transgender stuff it was probably for the way the economy and the world is now Me: .. well, I hate to tell you this mom, but that doesn't make it better Eggs > than kid's lives Not a great order of priorities. Besides, it's not like I'm unreachable. They have my phone Mom: It has nothing to do with the kids. They have the right to do whatever they want. And none of us feel any different toward them. Me: That's fine, I guess. Doesn't really change things. There's a reality to it. Those votes directly hurt them, and upended our lives. I'm not sure what you're wanting from me on this. Not just our lives, but other people's too. Tell grandma we love her Mom: Not wanting anything from you about this. Just don’t understand why you would turn against your family when none of them have said anything against the kids. She said love you guys too Me: Turn against? Not trusting people doesn't mean you've turned against them. I prioritize my kids and their well being. Mom: They haven’t done anything to you or the kids for you not to trust them. No one in this family would let anything happen to them or you. Me: There's a chasm. I don't hate anybody, but our views about how we navigate this world are vastly different. I wish everybody the best, and honestly, it's just Facebook, I barely use it. I feel better not seeing those things when I happen to open it. It's not that I don't care about them, but honestly, why pretend to be okay with things? Mom: No one is pretending and I haven’t ever seen anyone post anything about it on fb. But just want you to know that we all love you and the kids no matter what Me: Love you too. Mom: Tell the kids I love them. And Flint I hope he gets feeling better soon. Please keep me updated on you guys Me: Will do. Keep me updated on grandma. My sister's unhinged FB message to me the next day: You know after as close as we was for you to pull something like this blows my mind for you up and to decide to just delete me off Facebook to act like I’m no one you know I’ve stuck by you through a lot and this this is a new low I’m sorry you think so little of us here to do this but I guess whatever makes you happy but I’m glad when you was struggling and needing help i was good enough for you but now your standing well on your own 2 feet now I’m absolutely nothing to you so I hope and pray well for you and your family but if you don’t want me to be your family your wish is my command it was nice while it last take care Just remember regardless of how much you hate me and everyone here we will still love you just hate that our relationship is ending this way
