Seriously, thank you. I adore Christopher and felt myself so identifying with him (and I will be stealing the magic wish question to ask my fellow transmascs haha!) - you’ve definitely skyrocketed into my list of insta-buy writers!

This achingly slow burn romance is a constant gentle warmth right now, and one I desperately need to see more of. TJ Alexander is a force to be reckoned with, and I cannot wait to see what they write next.

The easiest 5 stars I’ve ever given to a book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

(And while I’m at it, this is a reminder to the cis people of the U.K.: they are not setting us on fire to keep you warm, they are just burning us.

And to my trans siblings, in the words of this beautiful novel, “The fact of your existence is a miracle”. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.)

I’m not saying this book is a cure all. I’m not saying it will make it stop hurting, but it has made it hurt less for me, at least for a while.

This is a beautiful story of life after coming out, of authenticity and refusing to give up what you have worked so hard to become. This book is golden.

I’ve been able to escape the news for hours at a time, listening to this as I cross stitch or do puzzles or tidy. And listening to a story of trans joy has been transformative to me over this past week.

Recently, like many of you, I’ve been struggling as a trans person in the U.K. Every day we seem to become more news story than human being in some horrible transmogrifying attempt by the British press and government. It’s hard, I know. But this book has been a real safe space for me.

Quite frankly I would take up residence in their foyer banging pots and pans if that’s what it took to get the sequel in my hands

What does this meeeean? 👀👀👀 (also, embarrassingly earnest thank you for this scene - it’s really what I needed with the current state of…everything)

I would die for Etienne and I feel like he’d at least dress me well for my funeral

I can’t wait for it. As a fellow “writing a cheeky hamlet retelling” person, I am so SO invested in this book

Petition to bring this back because I am now thinking up awful costume ideas (and also I would like to dress as a magpie lord because that sounds cool af)

Update I have no concept of time and didn’t realise quite how far away release day is. Blog coming…at some point. It’s drafted, but I think over two months out maybe slightlyyyy too early
