Please, if this is you, take your racism elsewhere. I love to watch shows like SNL that help me find some levity in the darkness, and so I can enjoy a good laugh— in English or in español. 🇵🇷🇺🇸

Is the Spanish language really that offensive to you? A language many have considered a “romance” language for so long? 🧐

Not only that, but so many who have performed on iconic stages such as SNL or the SuperBowl are NOT American citizens, and I did not see people up in arms over that. 😒

If anyone takes issue, remember every single Puerto Rican is a U.S. citizen by birth since the Jones Act passed in 1917 (but we’ve been a U.S. commonwealth since 1898), and approx. 1.2 million puertorriqueños have served in the U.S. military since World War I (including both my Abuelos). 🦅

I know this has sadly become our “new normal” right now, but NOTHING is normal about the hate he has received for being a Spanish-speaking person who dares to host SNL and perform at the SuperBowl half-time show. 🏈 📺

May the world someday see what we each bring to it. May they see the beauty and potential in our diversity. 🦋 #autism

The fact of the matter is, the world is a far better place due to our compassion, our empathy, and our very diverse perspectives on how to do things and how to adapt, how to live and how to thrive. #autism

Parents and caregivers of children and adults with disabilities have enough to worry about— and so do those of us living with disabilities— to be fighting these incredibly ableist and dangerous narratives. #autism

Thank you for just existing. Thank you for the unique, neurodivergent perspective you bring to the arts, to the sciences, and to every field imaginable. We are the ones to blame whenever we use toxic terminology such as “suffers from autism” or “low-functioning” or “high-functioning.” #autism

no matter where on the spectrum you fall, thank you for the contributions you make every single day. #autism

What’s more, the destructive idea has been perpetuated by so-called “leaders” that people with autism cannot lead independent, productive, and meaningful lives. To those in the autistic community, I say, #autism

who are hurting at the damaging rhetoric that has been spread. 😔 You deserve so much better. You deserve to feel supported, not vilified. #autism

Today, she shared the shocking news that she's been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. While I'm so sad to hear this, I know cancer couldn't have chosen a more badass human to reckon with. ⚡
