I'm thrilled to share my latest book deal, a humorous STEM picture book inspired by my very own cat (and his many "experiments")! I couldn't be luckier than collaborating on it with Justin Krasner and Karen Obuhanych (go look up her cat illustrations right now). I'm still pinching myself! 😃

Oh my gosh, You Are a Honey Bee! was on CBS Evening News tonight! The story was about something completely unrelated, but look at that adorable kiddo asking mom to read our book. Imagine my surprise!!! 😃 www.cbsnews.com/video/hospit...

12 of us presented today at Washington Library Association’s #WLA2025 Conference, sharing our books with public and school librarians from across the state. What fun to hear from my fellow KidLit creators and to meet librarians. Libraries are forever my happy place, and today my heart is full. 🥰

Happy book birthday to Curtis Manley and Tracy Subisak! I LOVE this book, and I think you and your kiddos will, too.

Girl power, STEM, making/building, coding/testing/debigging, friendship, love… it’s all here. And now the book is available everywhere!

This weekend I went on my first Amphibian Monitoring mission, a citizen science project of Woodland Park Zoo. Alas, it was too cold for the amphibians, but that didn’t stop my team from trying! (I refrained from crawling through all that brush and uneven terrain, since I’m healing a broken ankle.)

I had so much fun spending the day at Wheatland Center School yesterday! I got to speak to every grade (preK-8), eat lunch with students, sign loads of books, and present an evening talk for families. Absolutely delightful students, staff, and parents all! Gosh, I love my job. 🙏 #gratitude

I’m going to have to have a word with Santa. “Spiral fracture of the distal fibula” (broken ankle) was not on my wishlist. 🫤

Susan Greenway and I dropped a box of donated books, including our new releases ELEPHANT TOUCH and LET THE LIGHT IN, off this week at Treehouse this week for kids in foster care. We also raised $175 as part of our drive. Huge thank you to all our friends who contributed to this worthy cause! 🥰

My first book, Be a Changemaker, was published 10 years ago this week. I'm so grateful to my agent, Ammi-Joan Paquette, and my publisher, Beyond Words, for taking a chance on a newbie, and I feel blessed every day to still be living this author life! 📚🥰
