Or they will find a new way to delay, delay, delay…”We really want to release the files but there’s an investigation going on…”

Will new investigations halt the release of the files?

Totally agree. During a recent visit to Hungary what struck me was the poverty, even in Budapest. It’s incomprehensible that maga sees that country as a model.

Re Abbot’s threat to “tariff” New Yorkers who move to Texas…In maga world, tariffs good, taxes bad. Going forward, let’s use “tariff” when we mean”tax”. “Tariff the rich” could be the new battle cry. Maybe trump would finally give in and admit tariffs are taxes.

Could the democrats please propose the following: no congress person will be paid during a government shutdown. Further, all congress people’s pay will be docked each day the government is closed. Expand that to include the president, cabinet, and political appointees.

I believe at the end of this congress, Johnson is no longer speaker. The parties convene their caucuses and the majority select the speaker. Let’s not panic, and let’s not wait for 2026 to push back.

He is maybe someone who can’t be bought so easily. His brown-ness and religion are simply convenient facts to stir up bigotry.

I have never understood why people think repubs are so good on the economy. In my life time, the only presidents who reduced the deficit were Clinton, Obama, and Biden. All gop presidents from Reagan to trump have ballooned the deficit. Dems should run on fiscal responsibility-campaign jujitsu.

They serve one man and one man only.

When ice invades a city, it is incumbent on white citizens to don apparel that makes them look like the people ice targets. Waste their time, clog the system, like Danes who wore the yellow star after the nazis invaded.

It seems like scotus has given trump procedural wins while not ruling on the substance of the issues. He keeps getting “wins” but when I look at details it’s a win because the plaintiff had no standing, for example. When will they actually rule on the substance?

I am getting an”upstream error” message when I try to go to me feed. Is there an issue with BS?
August 23, 2025 at 4:46 PM
If this comes to pass, we can look to history to see possible scenarios. There were times when an org was temporarily split (Roman Empire, Catholic Church), with two heads of state. I can see that happening here-2 presidents, one elected and one self appointed. Best make a plan for it.

More likely, he will ignore any results unfavorable to him. His goon squad will support him. If regular law enforcement, including military, resists, he will fail. The lesson of WWII isn’t that nazis perpetrated horror. It’s that regular folks supported and enabled it, esp in occupied Europe.

It’s that old trope…people are poor because they are lazy. If only poor people worked they wouldn’t need help. Ugh! What a sanctimonious, entitled pos.
August 5, 2025 at 11:13 PM
If only there was something we could do to make these climate disasters go away.
August 2, 2025 at 3:40 PM
By implication, they believe in the myth of the lazy poor vs the deserving rich. They are delusional, stupid, and it galls me that we have to listen to this nonsense. No amount of facts or statistics will sway them. When reality hits, I expect to see convicts forced to harvest crops.

There have been times in world history when human population has declined rapidly, most obviously the Black Death (50% decline?). Humans did not go extinct and the resulting labor shortage eventually led to the end of feudalism. Panic about this is uncalled for. As a species we will survive.

The gop has tossed aside one of their most effective cudgels against the dems-the deficit. In addition to the immorality of transferring wealth from the poor to the wealthy, the dems have a golden opportunity to hammer the gop on the explosion of the debt.
July 2, 2025 at 7:23 PM
I’m the meantime, the gop has ceded their perennial top campaign message-the deficit. Dems should take it up and hammer the gop for fiscal recklessness. The deficit as a campaign issue is up for grabs. Pick it up and run with it. Added benefit, reducing the deficit is the right thing to do.
July 2, 2025 at 7:07 PM
This doesn’t get said enough. This is what they always do-take from the poor and give to the rich. Explode the deficit. It’s who they are. The only way to stop them is to vote them out. They are banking on enough people “getting over it” to stay in power.

Rules only apply to democrats. “For my enemies, the law. For my friends, everything.” Ruling on procedure lets them off the hook-no need to uphold the constitution because it’s a mere procedural thing.Ts EO will be overturned years from now as the main issue gets slow walked thru the courts.

What people crave is someone who will say what they think and believe what they say - also, tangible ideas that address real issues. Mamdani is authentic, isn’t afraid to speak his mind, and had a simple message. Dems can learn from that.
June 26, 2025 at 4:07 PM
We must start holding the GOP accountable for all of the chaos and law breaking. It’s all very well to blame trump but he is impervious to shame and enjoys the limelight. Stop labeling this as a trump problem. Start blaming the GOP. They are ultimately responsible for this mess.
June 22, 2025 at 7:36 PM
Completely agree! A handful of gop’ers in the house and senate can put a stop to this tomorrow. The fact that they are going along with everything says they are ok with it. If they are not ok, then they need to act like it. Cross the aisle, work with dems to bring sanity back to government.
