Why do the arse lickers keep clapping him? Oh silly me, it’s their job.

Deceitful. Deflective. Evasive. Grudging. Feral. Racist. Sexist. Ageist. Criminal. Dishonest and deplorable.

How can so many negative characteristics be found in one sad individual?

Does Trump think he’s running a TV Reality Show or Beauty Pageant?

His thoughts are preoccupied with ‘Ratings’, or phrases like “no talent”.

Is he really an American President?
Is America now in The Truman Show?

On the other hand, in the context of ‘girls kept as property…’ Ivanka may be trying to tell us something?

In the Republican inner circle it’s a ‘gated community.’

You are either in or out.

Rather than an idea, it’s a compulsive requirement and more a stamina for looking that is acquired, like discipline needed to practice piano lessons.

Looking hard instills curiosity, and a persistence to understand more, while developing endurance to look longer.

A very positive feedback loop.

There are two America’s.

One is a country, and a friend.
The other is a cult, to be avoided.

Remarkable artist, to be working outside on that scale in his 80’s…

Wonderful man.

Some just talk about work.

Others work, and learn craft skills, develop noble ambitions, and build homes for families, and communities.

Developing a craft skill such as drawing gives confidence to communicating ideas, very useful later in life.

Sometimes a sketch can convey much more than words, or in a foreign country bridge two languages, such as when briefing a French builder on a project.

Is that admission of personal desires?

Not many are aware of Chaim Soutine.
Some artists were well connected, some destitute, some were killed in world wars, and some were prolific and deserved recognition.

Van Gogh‘s reputation after he died was curated by Theo’s wife Johanna van Gogh-Bonger. Otherwise, he may have become obscure

Didn’t the Gov admit their Stats dept was kaput, so they don’t trust their own numbers?

your self portrait is very good.

I saw an exhibition of Soutine quite by accident while visiting Chartres Cathedral.

Several paintings of his in a small exhibition space at the back of the Cathedral, almost unadvertised.

Beautiful works like this one, and similar to yours in style.

Why does everyone around Trump keep dying?
November 13, 2025 at 3:59 PM
Is this your work?
It’s very strong in style and reminds me of Soutine.

Thank you, that is such a perceptive observation.

Feedback loop is an excellent expression of the process.

As the son of an Engineer who could innovate, I found drawing gave me a freedom to explore everything beyond the home, school and rulebooks.

I was encouraged to explore this freedom, and discovered the more I looked the better the result

You are right also, in saying “it became a way of looking at, and thinking about everything.”

In drawing the one I love, I can add an extra dimension, an important element in life, essential in artistic expression, love itself.

The photo records the image, but drawing expresses emotion.

Your mother’s words, “look, look again, keep looking,” are good words of advice to Art Historians, and Artists.

In drawing, the more I look, the more information I absorb, the more knowledge I gain to then interpret what gestural marks I make.

Drawing is for me a gateway to Painting, and life.

Some of the clay throwers became Town Planners, Car Designers, House Builders and Developers.

Appreciation of Art History includes appreciation of Art.

In any typical Art classroom, I recall of a class of 40, only 4 interested.

The rest threw clay at one another, and later became estate agents, insurance salesmen and traffic wardens.

To know what one is looking at requires much looking.
