Comments From Our Judges:
"This is the kind of debut game I wish I had made: unflinching but hopeful, clear in voice, and not trying to please everyone. The ‘Personality and Hardship’ discoveries are exactly the kind of low-prep, high-payoff mechanics I love."

The people who make these claims need to recognise that engagement with a concept increases engagement with linked concepts. Someone who played a game about protest will be more interested in protest of adjacent forms.

Gatekeep engagement and you kill engagement. Make entry points, not barriers.

3rd is definitely a challenge. Most ads will outright be blocked if they ref fascism or other political terms. We got around it by labelling it oppression. This is another way using real examples hurts outreach, as you also get censored for making political statements. Unless you're right wing ;)

So for 1st I'd say no, bc fascism is easier to identify in reality if we frame its acts and and impacts rather than specific moments. Hitler was fasc, but by pointing at Hitler more than his acts, we make it easier for modern fasc to hide by not being identical.
