Bittersweet day today...first day of the early 9 - 5 at the library so I could call dad on Monday at a reasonable hour....except that we lost him a couple of weeks ago. (Monday was my 'designated day to be sure I called....)

So, recent news...had a great time at the FurnaceTown Renn Faire this weekend. Plumbing problem - may - be solved and we have double-smoked bacon. (Yay, Thurn's)

So, had some homemade chili. Apparently there was a bone shard in the ground beef. 1 chipped molar, maybe 2. 1 cracked filling, maybe 2. Who would have suspected the chili????

New favorite thing to do with steamed carrots: lemon juice, chopped cilantro, S&P, little bit of butter. .mmm

We wouldn't have so many needy...if we didn't have so many greedy...

Feeling very accomplished today. A - found a local handy-person for the stuff that's just a bit out of the skill set. B - Lemon ricotta pancakes. I promise, you won't taste the extra protein. C - started dough for stecca for tomorrow. Stecca is the ultimate lazy person bread.
