To be complete your chart should also scale to the relative demographic size of each age group, and show the proportion who voted.

Taking an acutely current situation, is the American society intentionally converging towards European 1930's dictatorships, or once you put in power a Duce, is this just evolutionary convergence?
Can human group have intentions, or just individuals?
February 27, 2025 at 6:15 PM
Thanks for the clarification.
If we attribute the variation in ideas to intentions:
- it assumes variation in idea transmission is always intentional and result of free will
- if the intention is not convergence (or for ideas, imitation), if convergence occurs, does it count as evolutionary ?

I’m a confused by the article’s point that idea evolution can’t be compared to DNA evolution.
I’d thought that anything subject to a
Variation-Selection-Replication
cycle is indeed evolutionary, thus evolutionary convergence analogies would stand.

If you run the deepseek-r1 yourself on your computer, there is no censorship. I tried and it was pretty factual on Taiwan and the "1989 Tiananmen Square events"
The censorship is provided by an additional layer on the website, this is a requirement when operating in/from China.

I only use O365 for anything related to my job, LibreOffice for the rest.
Yesterday I tried to open a 1995 Word .doc contract.

Micro$ O365failed to open it, LibreOffice writer opened it without any issue, and displayed it perfectly.

The fact that LLM disgorge training data is an interesting side effect of learning the language model, not the initial goal.
The right way to use LLM for retrieval is RAG, more a index/retrieve, assess and synthesize pipeline.
LLM really excel at last two stages of this pipeline
