Standing up for workers. Backing our local economy.

Protecting workers’ rights has always been one of my top priorities — and it remains central to the work I do. I’ve voted for legislative reform that strengthens protections for workers, supports fair pay, and defends decent jobs.

⛴️ Gravesend - Tilbury Ferry Update ⛴️

I am formally calling for Kent County Council to use some of the increased funding settlement to Kent County Council to ensure that the ferry receives the funding necessary for it to resume operation.

Yesterday marked 97 years since women won the right to vote on equal terms with men.

It was an honour to wear this beautiful suffragette sash, gifted by @centenaryaction.bsky.social Action & crafted by Re:make Newport. A powerful symbol of how far we’ve come & a reminder of the work still to do.

It was great to be invited to St Peters & St Paul's church in Shorne this weekend!

Thank you to Rev. Hurst for hosting & to those who made this event possible, local community events like this are at the heartbeat of our communities.

🚨 A quick update from me – here's just a snapshot of what I’ve been up to recently in both Gravesham and Westminster! 🏛️🏘️

This is just some of the highlights of my work – there's so much more I’ve been doing both locally and nationally to stand up for our community.

🌈 Happy Pride Month, Gravesham! 🏳️‍🌈
This June, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of our LGBTQ+ community. Let's continue to stand together for equality, dignity, & love—because Gravesham is a place where everyone should feel safe and proud to be who they are.

🎥 I’m standing alongside residents on the Springhead Park estate in their fight against unfair treatment by FirstPort.
Families here are being hit with soaring service charges, poor communication, and a lack of accountability.

🍂🌏♻️ Continuing the crack down on fly-tipping right here in #Gravesham! 🍂🌏♻️

Great to stand with Steve Reed MP , Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, as we set out this government's tough new plans to seize and crush fly-tippers’ vans and clean up our streets.

Great to meet with @unlockdemocracy.bsky.social in Westminster this week to support their campaign for Automatic Voter Registration.

With over 6 million eligible voters across England and Wales not registered to vote, it’s clear our current system is leaving too many voices unheard.

This week I had the pleasure of attending an inspiring @unicef.org & Soccer Aid reception - focused on one powerful message: putting children at the heart of UK development work.

🇬🇧 Today marks the 80th anniversary of #VEDay. 🇬🇧

On this day in 1945, the guns fell silent across Europe, marking the end of the Second World War on our continent.

Out in Gravesham this weekend chatting with constituents & spreading the word about the upcoming local and county council #elections on Thursday 1st May—and I even made a new (furry) friend along the way 🐛❤️

I had the privilege of speaking to the BBC about the incredible work of the Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund — a local organisation doing vital work to support young people’s #mentalhealth.

Every young person deserves access to the right support, at the right time.

Today on #WorldMalariaDay, we shine a spotlight on a disease that continues to claim over 600,000 lives each year — most of them children.

#Malaria is both preventable and treatable, yet it remains a leading cause of death in many parts of the world.

I would like to wish a Happy Vaisakhi to all! 🙏

It was truly wonderful to join the vibrant Vaisakhi Day parade and festival here in Gravesend. Seeing our whole town come together in celebration was nothing short of inspiring & it showed Gravesham at its absolute best!

The LTC announcement was a disappointment for our community. Today, I asked if we can use a portion of toll revenue generated from the LTC to support the return of the Tilbury-Gravesend ferry— I'll keep pushing for real transport solutions for local people. 🚢🚗 #LowerThamesCrossing #Gravesham
