The relationships people have with scenes from Rob Reiner movies are not easy to create. You can market the heck out of a movie, you can pull all the levers you have, and you can capitalize on every advantage you can come up with. But you can't make anybody absorb "baby fishmouth" or "as you wish"; you can't make anybody say "these go to 11" every time they see the number 11 anywhere. You can't buy that for any amount of money. It's magical how much you can't; it's kind of beautiful how much you can't. Box office and streaming numbers might be phony or manipulated or fleeting, but when the thing hits, people attach to it or they don't.

Took our store’s pink book truck in the neighborhood Christmas parade, and my fuzzy daughter walked with us. She was in her element, getting pets from children!

Had a small Thanksgiving this year, so we went with chicken instead of turkey. One of the best Thanksgiving meals ever (not pictured: stuffing, gravy, and the traditional sister Schubert rolls). Those veggies were INCREDIBLE

When my mom’s dog died 2 years ago, she brought Oliver’s old toys over. Poptart adopted this duck, and it’s been her favorite toy ever since. She really wishes I’d let her bring it to bed.

Against all odds, it gets weirder!
The community’s other founder, Peter Csere, was arrested in Ecuador for stabbing a miner and is accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from a vegan community there. Both he and Mr. Orwoll say they believe Return to the Land meets the requirements for a legal exemption for private associations and religious groups that offer housing to their members.

These AI posts from people trying to defend their use are really starting to sound like “I need an AR-15 to deal with the 30-50 feral hogs on my property”
I’m a historian and a K-12 educator and I use AI. My Bluesky is full of people I respect, all regularly posting about how they dislike AI and the people who use it. Many are in higher ed and/or the larger history field. So - we’re just alienating K-12 teachers and others who are using AI tools now?
