Foraging, plants, fungi and anything nature 🍄‍🟫

Almost three years living a nomadic lifestyle.

All photos I post are my own.📷
Officially March, which means fresh spring greens are starting to pop up and the winter fungi begin to fade.🍄‍🟫

Wild garlic/ramsons (Allium ursinum) and some scarlet elf-cups (Sarcoscypha coccinea)

Shaggy ink cap (Coprinus comatus)

The ones in this photo are beyond eating, but when found at an earlier stage they can be cooked and eaten.

Still pretty good for making ink though!

Amethyst deceivers (Laccaria amethystina)

Really beautiful mushrooms and edible too.🍄‍🟫

The woolly milkcap (Lactarius torminosus)

A different type of milkcap than the previous one I posted, but this one was far too pretty to chop up with my mushroom knife.🍄

Named ‘woolly’ because of the fabric-like strands around the cap

Also Belle, the cuddliest jack russell on the planet and best foraging companion.🐶

She’s almost 6 and has been with me since she was a puppy. Very smart but loves to bark.

When you still aren’t sure about other humans so you hide behind your safe humans legs 🐕

This is Dragon, my little rescue pup who’d already had four homes at three months old. He’s been with me for four months now and will stay forever🥰

Slime molds! I know less about these than I do about #fungi, but they truly are fascinating; especially with their ability to solve mazes.

1. Lycogala epidendrum
2. Reticularia lycoperdon
3. Fuligo septica

Common stinkhorn (Phallus impudicus)

Starts life as a creepy egg before rupturing into a phallus shaped mushroom. The sticky (and stinky) goo around the tip attracts flies and other insects, which help with spore dispersal.

Yellow brain fungus (Tremella mesenterica)

Can be found all year round but it’s much easier to spot during winter.

It’s also parasitic and will be feeding off the little crust fungus you can see below it.

In my spare time I like to torture mushrooms from the Lactarius (milk cap) genus.🍄

Jokes aside, Lactarius are a pretty good group to study for beginners.

New to this app and not sure how to use it yet, but here’s me and some penny buns (Boletus edulis) I found back in October.🍄‍🟫
