Even assuming, as you appear to be, that all girls are worse at all athletic tasks than all boys, grouping people by size / skill doesn’t imply that anyone is being excluded. In your scenario, the girls would just end up playing each other in the lighter weight, lower ability divisions.

Course not; none of these people actually care about girls playing sports. Probably think it diverts too much blood from their wombs.

I have never personally met a person expressing “any concern about migration” who was not also obviously racist.

Hey, I want to thank you for this comment. It made me realize this was a significant gap in my education. I’m currently working my way through A Wicked War by Amy Greenberg. It’s amazing what gets hidden in plain sight in American culture.

The American working class has always been divided by white guys trying to secure an advantage in scrabbling for the best crumbs capitalism drops on the floor.

I agree with everyone that the reasons for the redecoration are horrible, but am I the only one who’s a little surprised that wall was actually at Quantico in the first place? It looks like an elementary school.

A lot of the true motive is supporting commercial real estate values and getting the captive audience for shops / restaurants. I spend a heck of a lot less on lunches since I’ve been teleworking while the office building sits around collecting rodents.

The relevance of the trophy-taking was as an example of how regular people within our own culture have slid into casual dehumanization of others. I also would have worded it more carefully if I knew my audience was this large 😕
