I thought about what it means that we have terrorized people — old Black people, Hispanic and Latino people, women, trans people — about how critical this real id bullshit is. But I can pay to opt out of that hassle — and i can turn even more power over to a private company in the age of Palantir.

No grace. No patience. Sometimes just the most curt, cold, or downright rude responses coming from faculty who can't even be bothered to learn their students' names.
