The only witness to testify about Huguley’s death was Boyd’s co-defendant, Quintay Cox. Cox had tried to back out of the plea deal but changed his mind under threat of the electric chair. On the stand, Cox admitted to changing his story once he got the deal.

South Carolina has scheduled another firing squad execution. The state is planning to execute Mikal Mahdi on April 11.

After not executing anyone since 2010, Louisiana appears to be attempting to execute three men in three consecutive days next month. Just yesterday, Landry announced that the state had finalized its protocol to execute prisoners with nitrogen gas.

CoreCivic, the private prison company, ended 2024 with "strong financial performance," acc to a press release. It says CC is expected to make even more $$ this year.

Starting in December, they asked Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat, to demand that Frazier be returned to Alabama but Michigan officials this week said they have no intention of doing so and will allow the execution to move forward.

Frazier spent 15 years under Michigan's custody after he was sentenced to death in Alabama. It was only in 2011 that then-Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder sent him to Alabama. His lawyers say that was unlawful, however, and Frazier is still technically a Michigan prisoner with a life sentence.

Assistant AG Richard Anderson said Miller made "slight movements and twitches," and those only happened when he stopped breathing. Anderson just won a spot on the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals and will assume office in January.
