To be fair, folks in TX are taking this INCREDIBLY seriously… like way more seriously than any human pathogen. It’s actually kind of sad now that I think of it.

Many shows cancelled; several venues closed til Jan at least. Most barns on lockdown, etc.

Now if only we took flu/COVID this seriously.

It’s Astrangia poculata. Reads were de duplicated following Misha Matz’s protocol for TagSeq. Never had these issues aligning stickleback TagSeq to that reference genome (though it’s likely far better annotated)

Im wondering if perhaps it’s an issue with gene calls in the reference? We are asking fearurecounts to pull exon or gene maps. We also get pretty poor alignment to the associated CDS file.

Thoughts?? Maybe we’re missing something.

We just had a town hall to strategize about research priorities and the university’s plan to hire “top tier” faculty with established researchers programs and funding synergistic to our priority areas.

Hard to have realistic hope that a tenured professor would move here after today

Despacito??? My other guess would be that old/silly “Charlie Bit My Finger” clip…
