Fully knowing that for the overwhelming majority a 1 time intervention isn't enough and was never going to be enough!

It's always been like this in services of course, but in research we can be idealistic. We are now doing research on how to deliver 1-time interventions for young people. It's almost like we've shifted from research on efficacy to how thin we can stretch resources!

However, if the NHS ever did fund equine lead interventions then it would be money well spent!

Sadly, the NHS favours approaches that are based on strict step-by-step protocols and where outcomes can be easily measured through forms, rather than the organic learning and smiles that come from children being allowed to just 'be' around a horse.

There is a really big gap in the way single event trauma and complex trauma is understood and recognised. Signs of complex trauma get missed because they don't present how people think someone who is traumatised should.
