Mood Reader - novella, fantasy, queer, Tolkien, and manga fan

(sometimes k-pop and food ‘cause I contain multitudes)
Just started All Things Are Too Small, and I think I will like this BUT only a chapter in and the list of people I can recommend it to has whittled quite a bit. A familiarity with reading academic works will be an edge up if you're thinking of picking this one up!

It's a celebration of 5 years of me reviewing books online!

To celebrate I'm giving away signed copies of the first two novellas in The Singing Hills Cycle by @nghivo.bsky.social 💖

Not only was Empress the first novella review I ever posted, it's still one of my all-time favorites.

I didn't get a picture of Dippy wearing a Pride flag as a scarf last weekend so I had to grab one today when the rain broke for a few minutes.

Have a small late night Sunday shelfie featuring a Dippy, the Dinosaur print.

May your reading be powerful and your week be golden.

This has been a lovely, meandering read that’s gently to my brain fog this past week.

Have to say, reading Pittsburgh in 50 Maps while sitting in Oakland (Oakland PGH not CA) is an absolute treat.

I’m loving it @chefstentor.bsky.social 😁

I picked up this book with no background knowledge and it has brought a wrecking ball of religious homoeroticism into my life.

Made it to the CC Mellor Library book sale today - it gets busier and busier every year, but I also come away with some lovely books every time!

Stopped by @blythebookspgh.bsky.social today - and was so excited to see a section specifically for fantasy! A bookstore after my own heart 💖 (fab stickers and assorted merch as well)

I can’t believe this was last week?

It simultaneously feels like forever and also yesterday. It was an absolute bright spot in a year that’s been pretty rough so far. 2011 me would never believe we went to see Taemin live.

I assembled a purple book stack today, and I am very proud of it.

Swung by Fujiya Ramen to catch the restaurant week special - a good bowl of Ramen really does improve the day 💖

My current read has some fascinating use of phrasing 👀

If you liked The Spear Cuts Through Water I deeply want to know what you think of The Saint of Bright Doors and vice versa
