Look. I hope I'm wrong here. But continuing to say any form of "that's illegal, he can't do that" after everything that he's done that's illegal, even unconstitutional, is not helpful.

Who's capitulating? You're the one over here assuming the system that's proven time and again that it doesn't give a shit about its own rules will follow its rules this time.

If you're just gonna sit your happy ass down and assume it'll be over because of term limits, that's capitulation.

But if he does, who will stop him?

Let's stop pretending the Constitution matters to this administration or the SCOTUS, he's already been elected in violation of it once. When states tried to deny him from the ballot because he's ineligible, SCOTUS ruled they don't have the right to decide that.

Nah, they'll just use Grok

I misread that as "the fascist one in the slow group" and other than the implication that they're not all fascist, it didn't even register as a misread

Just remember, anytime you think a corpo is on your side, no they aren't.

Businesses should never be truly trusted because they'll never be an ally.

They replaced their ad agency with an AI LLM. It's working out great for them so far, clearly.

I didn't say I had the answer there; that said, having the GOP put their names on pardon approvals for the insurrectionists who literally put most of their lives in danger just a few years ago would at least give pause for them, and could be used against them later, so it still might have helped.

Don't be so sure of that, the administration was arguing to SCOTUS that Trump has the right to starve SNAP beneficiaries in spite of being ordered to pay and were gearing to go after states that distributed funds on their own

It seems the Senate Republicans expect them, otherwise they would have nuked the filibuster, but they don't want to be caught with no minority power in two years

Hopefully we'll get a president in '29 who'll seat an AG who won't spend four years faffing around in the vague direction of investigation
November 15, 2025 at 3:24 AM
This is the point where corrupt pardons from a corrupt administration lead by a man who's not even constitutionally eligible to have been elected should be blanket nullified

The pardon power is one that needs checks put on it

How the hell can you say you'll keep fighting right as you're giving up the only leverage you had?
November 10, 2025 at 9:16 AM
And even if they win, they'll lose because the exact same reasoning will be used to purge the changes red states have been enacting unilaterally without even bothering with a vote

You can't give that away, that's *shareholder value*!

Wait, I mean *tax breaks for the wealthy*

Also, why would I be mad that someone who can't afford to eat is able to eat just because they have an addiction? Should we starve everyone with addictions? Is it all addictions or just specific ones? Is there a list of okay addictions and starve-worthy addictions I can refer to?

Turns out they don't care about precedent, even when it's precedent they themselves set 4 years prior

The fact that they're unwilling to gives me hope

And getting the taxpayers to pay for it after saying he would by ordering the DOJ to pay him $250 million for doing their job prosecuting him

I've gone to a couple of FFRF conventions... I don't really know if they're that bad or not, I've not paid much attention to them in years, but when I was there it felt very much like people who had replaced one religion with another. Felt very uncomfortable.

The story about a study from 2024 getting retracted now? I'm guessing you didn't actually read any of it past the headline?
