Uptown has really raised the bar for restaurant Halloween decorations. This is the Stranger Things section, one of several themed parts of the seating.

The you-pick flowers as the CSA are absolutely glorious right now. This is one of 3 bouquets I made from recent picks

Grieved to discover that a tree I’d planted during a neighborhood planting day 18 years ago was taken out at the roots by last Thursday’s intense storm. I will miss patting its trunk and saying “hi, baby.” 😭

An absolute icon. I love this statue of her in Seneca Falls, NY. She was important to women’s suffrage also!

It feels like a miracle that we could find a used car my daughter loves and could afford, a former rental fleet car.

Today would have been my dad’s 99th birthday. Hugging his patched childhood teddy a little tighter.

You know genuine spring is inching closer when the cats are prowling by the windows, alert to the many returning bird species.

It’s a three cat pileup this afternoon (and miraculously no one’s fighting).

Another #caturday , another reminder of how lonesome my elder kitty Vincent can seem at times. He was bonded to our former sweetie Keats who passed in 2019. The little tabby who joined us in 2020 bonded to the middle kitty and is a bully to Vincent. 😿

The box loving boy is a bit grumpy today after forcing open the back door and ending up stuck outside in the cold for hours. We lured him back inside with kibble. At least he’s plumply well insulated.

One of the cool things about living in a historic house is discovering just how much “they don’t make ‘em like that anymore.” The plaster literally has pieces of horsehair in it to add strength.

This carousel horse I lovingly stitched for my daughter’s nursery (a year of the horse baby) now hangs in my own room since she’s an adult. This is self-compassion, right?

I’m thinking about adding mosaics to the risers of my front steps (kinda like this, but all the risers, not the porch framing per se) come springtime. Aside from moisture sealing the concrete first, any other tips for me?

My new favorite tool for getting snow off the car. So much control and ease of use! The rubber edge makes for perfect scoops.

An organization technique that got my most crazy-making space under control and is very doable to maintain: the Kon-Mari sock drawer. Fold pairs in 1/3, set like files in rows by color family (my addition: keep navy & black a row apart)
