NOAA is an absolute mess, and it’ll be worse tomorrow. Please help us. There have already been over 1,000 terminations. It’s not just layoffs—Elon Musk and his staffers are trying to completely dismantle us. Today, there were tons of firings, and more are coming tomorrow.

We may not have flu shots next year. NOAA cut. FAA cut. National Parks cut. SSA being cut. US no longer part of WHO. Medicaid slashed. Proposed tax structure raises taxes. Tariffs increasing costs. A child died of measles. So much more.

How is anyone ok with any of this? Our world is upside down.

Scrolling to find the things I want to boost/share here. There’s SO MUCH. Can’t pick just one or two but don’t want to repost all of them…but don’t want to not repost them all. It’s scary. Overwhelming. Frustrating. Angst-inducing. What to do? Feeling awful (and powerless) about ALL of it.

Do you know anyone who receives services through Medicaid, Medicare, CHIP, and/or the Health Insurance Marketplace? According to Alt National Park Service, Musk and his peeps have been going through records associated with those programs. Be prepared for a whole lot of people to lose those services.

But now, critical emergency response positions are being cut, leaving both staff and visitors at risk.

We take pride in protecting and maintaining these parks, but we are being set up to fail. The people who love and rely on these public lands deserve better.

Then, on Feb. 6, we learned that the Trump administration had rescinded even more job offers—this time for seasonal law enforcement rangers, wildland firefighters, and EMTs. These are roles directly tied to public safety, supposedly exempt from Trump’s Jan. 20 hiring freeze.

Our parks are in chaos. We’ve seen firsthand how Trump’s hiring freeze, the rescinding of hundreds of job offers, and the layoff of 5% of NPS staff have left us overwhelmed and short-handed.

I recently went on a short rant with a friend about the increasing lack of critical thinking skills in this country. We need to reverse that trend.

Last night, the Trump administration stated that it would not fire probationary employees. However, layoffs of probationary employees have already begun at several offices, including the CFPB, OPM, and GSA, and are still continuing today.

I wonder, do any Trump supporters see this as suspicious? I would like to think folks are saying “wait a minute…”🤔🤔
