Start zen bowl work with me!! work on all the little steps to have a seamless transition into the fancy stuff.
Here Ravi is learning he can move away from it. And that even when moving towards doesn’t mean is the actual cue to go to it.

FDSA, starts today!

Working on Ginny collecting more for backside/threadle wraps vs extension.

Also it’s a good example of what ee work up to in Bye Bye Cookie of being able to move towards and past the reward in order to get them! #agility #dogsports

Need help splitting down position changes? Join me in TEAM1!

This is how I start my puppies! And it’s a good place to go back to if you are struggling with creeping on your positions

Helo is starting to get the offered down and ready for the next stage!

Trial prep work with rewards at a distance!
I make it very clear to the dog that we are setting the rewards down before going into the ring. There’s no tricking the dog!

Here Loot goes directly towards and past the dish as I practice ring routines!

Bye Bye Cookie class open now!

He’s starting to move out!! It’s still hard for him, but it feels like he’s getting there!

Pivots with Helo! He’s just gotten to start heel position here and offer tiny movements towards me. My goal is to mark and quickly lure him the rest of the way before he stops moving.

Some slow doodle work to get Loot thinking! He’s feeling very pushy! #heelwork #dogsports #dogtraining #obediencedog

Teaching a sticky target in heel to Ravioli! This will primarily be used as a connection game to have at my side.

I’m getting my hand from a chin rest position to a flat hand on the side of his face

Continuing to work on the core foundation moves for heeling. Pivots first, then backing up and sidesteps. Once I have these 3 down then I mix it up with slow forward heeling.

This video is on his sidesteps!

Working on Ginny’s over rotation in a left pivot. Anything that happens after the action will affect it.

When I think about reward placement I don’t necessarily think about getting the dog in perfect position as much as what will affect the next rep the most

Chin rest fronts! I love teaching this as it helps them be close and makes it easier to be straight.

Baby agility. And I need to be more prepared both after an error, and between reps to help manage his starts. Those in between times are so important!

Pop stands back with the target to try and not let Ginny fly forward 5 feet like she wants too!

and I know I mentioned not putting my pop stand work into my exam class, but it’s there! It’s just so much fun I just couldn’t take it out 😂
Class is going on now!!

Starting Ravi on some pre-agility foundations! Handle to the toy!

Teenaged brain makes remembering his nice toy skills tough 😂 But at least he does a great job switching between the toy and learning to do a cookie magnet with some nice soft treats!

Teaching Ravioli a push back sit. When is time to add a cue I’ll give this a different word, “lift”, as it’s a different action than the tucked sit. Focusing on HOW the dog moves makes getting the position at a distance easier. #dogsports #dogtraining #puppytraining

Teaching a backup in heel is another core foundation move to teach the dog to stay at my side.
He wasn’t able to do pivot followed by a backup step like I want, so I grabbed a rear foot target to help. I like that he’s focusing on me and not just racing to the target!

A few position change signals, working on pauses and not moving just because I’m taking a breath! #dogsports #dogtraining

Rehearsing what I might do if she freezes in the ring. Giving another cue is an option, but if I’m at that point we already failed, releasing the pressure of being near the judge is a great option! Tell them they’re amazing and get them to you to setup again! #dogsports #dogtraining
