Speaking of NYT, finally, some news I can use. Except as a 45 year old woman who talks with lots of other middle aged women..... uhhh.... yes it's normal and this isn't news

A fair complaint from Sue.

(I just googled "silent generation slang" and got "cruisin for a bruisin", a favourite of my Boomer dad maybe his dad said it to him!)

[light spoiler for today's NYT crossword]

The boomers in the comment section are not okay with the generational slang theme today!

my fav part of the covid vax process was when it asked me if I was booking for more than one person, and then took me to a screen that said I can't do that, and I had to START OVER

Albertans who voted and booked covid vaccines today

You don't have to pre-order. This does seem meant to confuse people and discourage vaccination, but it says this right on the website:

One of the most jarring things about Don Quixote is that usually the battles are fought with lances, swords, or just throwing rocks, but once in a while someone busts out a gun

Shout out to the Alberta Government for making the covid vaccination program as difficult to access, uninviting, and confusing as possible. Here's the email I just received as a result of "pre-ordering" a vaccine

I also read The Netanyahus by Joshua Cohen. Plenty to comment on, in light of events that have taken place since it was published in 2021, but mostly I want to give a shout out to the "real" Judy, quoted (?) in the end of the book. If that letter isn't real, I don't want to know about it!

I read Frontier by Can Xue, tr. Karen Garnant and Chen Zeping. This is my fifth Can Xue book and I couldn't tell you what was going on in any of them, which is just the way I like it
