On it's 50th birthday, special ed law is fighting for its life. On Oct 10, the Department of Ed cut hundreds of positions from OSEP, which oversees implementation of the law & investigates complaints from students who’ve been denied needed services.

Review etiquette question: When hard-rejecting a manuscript, I typically check "no" when asked if I will review subsequent revisions.

My reasoning is that if I think a study isn't salvageable, my recommendation won't change with a future revision.

Is this rude? Does it make editors curse my name?

We registered our oldest for kindergarten in Charlottesville this morning, which is to say:

This fall I'll be joining the University of Virginia as an associate professor of education.

Excited (and still a bit in awe) to begin this new adventure.
