With drug plan you can change every year.. but with medigap you are pretty much stuck with the same plan. You would start to pay a lot more if you change to a different company later. So need to make a good choice up front. Ins agent can explain. You are so right that it's way too complicated!

Ins agent is free, they get fee from ins companies...get a recommendation for a good one.. Also, don't delay getting your medigap... They can charge you a lot more if you don't get it within so many months.. 3?..of your bday. Good luck!

Yes you def shd get a medigap plan and a part D drug plan. I worked with a great ins agent who specializes in medicare plans. Just make it plain that you want medigap (medicare G) and part D and NOT medicare advantage.
