This print came out nice! It’s funny how every piece I paint starts to take a new meaning in the age of chaos. There’s still some light breaking through if you look for it.

Trying out some new Giclee prints and the colors are spot on except for the oranges that are printing just a bit too red. Need to adjust and try again!

Just a start of something new. I’m working on trying to keep it loose, but not let it go too crazy.

Worked on this little painting for a few hours today. I am finding the need to paint lately, and I’m definitely gravitating towards children, moms, and honestly just vulnerability and innocence. Art is in itself an act of resistance.

Found a fantastic reference for these hands and got lost in this painting on a surprise day off. With a few interruptions I worked on this for 6 hrs or so. I might go touch up the pottery, the bottom of the left hand, and even enlarge the wheel and even it out…but I’m leaving it for a while.

Just the beginning…

I painted this little painting probably 6 months ago, and then abandoned it into the painting graveyard. I stumbled across it again and put an hour or two in - bringing it to life. It’s amazing how much perspective time can give you.

Done. Quick and imperfect and vulnerable and done.

Working through a tough week, and carving myself a little time in the studio. I’m finding that in times of stress I gravitate towards painting figures, and it’s a learning curve and a challenge.
