Queen Marie of Romania’s 478-carat sapphire, one of her favourite jewels, is on display at the Cartier exhibition at Victoria&Albert Museum. Gifted to her by King Ferdinand, she famously wore it at the 1922 Coronation in Alba Iulia and in her iconic portrait painted by Philip de László in London.
