Gotta keep that manual comp pass !
Pixar designed Toy Story to be printed on physical film. The Disney renaissance movies were the same.

Today, it's hard to see them as they were meant to be seen. The versions on streaming and home media aren't quite the same films that ruled the '90s:

Il y a un an sortait Vertigéo chez Casterman. Après 10 000 exemplaires vendus, d’autres récits vont arriver ! Actuellement, je travaille avec le talentueux @jane-eve-sky.bsky.social sur le projet Asimov. Un one shot de rétro-SF cyberpunk, qui n’est pas encore signé, mais qui se profile bien ;)

To achieve legal and/or medical transition in the UK, people are REQUIRED to live IN PUBLIC in their preferred gender, FOR A PERIOD OF YEARS. Or they will be refused support.

CAN YOU UNDERSTAND that doing that is being made ILLEGAL?

CAN YOU UNDERSTAND that it's making BEING TRANS illegal?
I had live 'as a man' to prove I deserved treatment. That involved using male facilities.
If you don't do that, they won't let you transition. I had to bring someone to be interviewed to 'prove' I wasn't just sitting in the house in a suit.

See what they're doing, now?

Random but nice that once every few years, some orgs contact me to screen "The Witch's Mask", my RCA grad film from 2017. Guess there aren't THAT many films about witchy Indonesian lore out there ?? This is the second occurrence it'll be screened as a taster with a live action horror afterwards.

Satoshi Kon was a master filmmaker -- and a master storyboarder. His detailed sketches were blueprints for his movies.

Take Millennium Actress. He spent nine months boarding it alone, on a quest to make a great film with a small budget. We explore:

The bit that chills me the most of the AI/Ghibli slop debacle, is that image posted by the US govt. Not just sucking out the substance and spitting it out like an empty shell, but using it to say the reverse of the authors' intentions. We remember the "Better a pig than a fascist" line from Porco

I been invited to a friend's place and one kid was doing AI on their tablet. Told them that it's bad and the father asked me why. Explained and also said real art have more soul.

He wanted to make a dinosaur playing basket-ball, I drew this for him. They loved it so much, the dad paid me in the end

Ngl the "Atlantic editor is in the group chat" memes are giving me life.
Texts from a group chat in which top government officials discussed a deadly missile campaign with flagrant disregard for civilian casualties and seemingly no knowledge of the journalist in the room set off a meme trend lampooning the Trump administration.
The “Signalgate” Memes Have Entered the Chat
Users are lampooning government officials’ flippant discussions of a deadly assault with no apparent knowledge of the journalist in the room.

Still don't know what to use BlueSky for (lol) so I guess we'll keep it a bit like my old barely used Twitter : occasionally scream into the void about niche things I like. Hopefully pivot to art and stuff at some point. For my work it's still instagram and website atm : www.instagram.com/niwakins/

One of my favourite shorts, from the "Manie manie" anthology ! Bring back the 90s Omnibus format. "Magnetic Rose" from Memories also a classic. Remember seeing images in the glossy pages of Animeland when I was a kid and being haunted, would be years till I'd find a viewable version online.
