PBS: PBS: Jha has warned that without more money, vaccines will be harder to come by, tests will once again be scarce, and the therapeutics that are helping the country weather the current omicron-driven surge in cases without a commensurate increase in deaths could be sold overseas before Americans can access them. “I think we would see a lot of unnecessary loss of life if that were to happen,” Jha said this past week. “But we’re looking at all the scenarios and planning for all of them.”

Update October 2023: Test positivity data are no longer reported by NY state department of health. Total new positive are reported. These reports include total PCR lab confirmed results and total antigen test combined. A new tab has been added to the sidebar if a variant of concern has been detected in any county in the past 4-6 weeks & where it was found. Welcome to the dashboard for the NYS wastewater surveillance network. The NYS wastewater surveillance network is a collaboration between Syracuse University, SUNY-ESF, university at Buffalo—SUNY, Stony Brook University, upstate medical university, NYS Department of health, and NYS department of environmental conservation. The website is where all the wastewater surveillance data collects by participating counties is reported. As of October 13, 2023, New York State HERDS will no longer report positivity or Covid patients in the ICU. coronavirus.health.ny.gov/daily-hospit...
NY coronavirus.org Methodological notes: “New admissions & total hospitalization data come from the Health Electronic Records Data System (HERDS). Hospitals are required to complete this survey Monday-Friday and data reflects information reported by hospitals through the survey each day. These data include NYS resident and non resident hospitalizations. As of 10/13/23 HERDS no longer collects information on Covid patients admitted to the ICU while hospitalized. Historical COVID ICU totals are available via the Open Data hospitalization file. Healthcare facilities pause Covid data submission through certain holidays. Therefore the new Covid hospital admissions chart will show no data for those days”

The US recently reported record disability.
