I love animals; books; good video games; kitchen gardens; intelligent / caring people; and most of all - democracy. Not afraid to speak my mind and fight for what is right.
Both of these images seem very similar - and both are very creepy.

Afterwards... we had to go and enjoy some TACOs at a local restaurant.

I will be at a No Kings protest tomorrow in my local area. Using my sign that I made from the last protest event - as it is spot on for the focus of Saturday's event. Will be there with several friends. Several of my family members will be at events in their local areas.

Show up and be seen.

Planning to participate. Made a new sign this morning in fact because the one I was using before wasn't making me happy.

This is where we are now. Again.

Decided I needed a fresh protest sign for the upcoming May 1st protest and for the many more likely to follow. A little image editing work and using up sign making supplies I already had on hand.

Prepping a section of the garden to plant up the 2025 onion patch. This bed had carrots and beets in it (among other things) in 2024. Bonus for today's work is a nice harvest of the last of the over-wintered beets and carrots. Remember to touch grass (or soil) in these stressful times.

They really are. This one looks so much like my Lucy (who passed away a few years ago now).

Take care everyone. The health information / alert system has been dismantled (for the most part) and there are some concerning emergent threats out there of that nature.

I am starting to feel like we have been teleported into a season of "Survivor". We just have to outwit, outplay, outlast.

Today's agenda... going for a winter walk/hike in old growth forest. I need to touch grass (well ferns and mosses most likely) and do some forest bathing. Yesterday was just the start of a long road of trying to survive and thrive despite everything going on around me.

The annual garden porn arrived in the mail today. 😆

The 1 pm satellite image of the storm that is moving in on us in the Pacific Northwest. That low pressure "eye" is very well defined. Local peeps... batten down the hatches.

Lots of rain in the forecast here today. Good for the giant fungi in our local forest trails but makes it less pleasurable to get out and enjoy them.

I really need to touch grass today, but it will likely be limited to a quick dash to the garden to harvest a few items for dinner later.
