In 2005, a small team of researchers asked:
What if undergrads didn’t just learn genomics, but contributed to real discoveries?

That question launched the Genomics Education Partnership (GEP).

Undergrads learning real genomics?
Yes—through the Pathways Project.

The GEP provides:
• A gene annotation walkthrough
• A full YouTube video series
• All prerequisite curriculum materials
—all free and open-access.

What does a national research network look like?
📍 This map shows 209 active GEP institutions across the U.S. and its territories.

That’s 209 campuses where students are learning genomics by doing real research.

Please consider donating to a good cause. Without NIH and NSF funding, the GEP is struggling to stay afloat.
Help us hit $2025 by June 25! The Genomics Education Partnership gives students real research opportunities in genomics. Every gift supports hands-on learning and inclusion in STEM.

I love seeing the massive #NoKings turnouts in major cities, but what I love even more are the hundreds and hundreds of small, rural towns that had relatively bigger turnouts compared to their populations 💙🙏

The current fundraising link is for EU labs to support FlyBase UK group. Still setting up to collect fees from U.S. and all other labs. Stay tuned. Divided because of recent international firewalls.
We currently have a call for support that has gone out to European labs, to support FlyBase-UK. We are asking our colleagues from labs in the US and other countries to wait for a similar call to them that will go out in the near future, to support the US sites. We thank you for your patience.
URGENT: FlyBase has lost practically all its funding overnight; even user fees are tied up in denied grant funding. 🤬🤯

Any lab using @flybase.bsky.social please donate using the link in post below.

This incredible community, on whose backs our #Drosophila labs depend, can't be left out to dry.

We are aware that you are all having trouble accessing FlyBase today. We've been under what looks like a DDoS attack; our developers are hard at work to get us back up.

Be mindful that NSF employees have been alerted that more staffing reductions may be imminent. Program officers are actively planning for contingencies by integrating as much redundancy as possible into the review system (which is admittedly challenging when they’re already spread thin). (10)
