Without major means to resurface itself, Callisto has the oldest and most heavily cratered surface in the Solar System. It diligently records each impact that marks its surface.

"Could some small being, evolved to sense ripples in [Ganymede's] magnetic field far above, feel when the auroras appear? Might it, in its own chemistry and ways of knowing, share a sense of joy and awe with us, millions of kilometers away in the dark?"

These two sweet stars have found a home! I made a series of small artworks in which I painted the three brightest stars from each constellation of the zodiac. I did this to highlight the ways in which humans connect to the stars, whether they observe directly or enjoy discussing ancient archetypes.

I'm so happy with this work in progress in like a "ooh, pretty!" way, and then immediately feel bad that it's about chemical fires :(

The fluorescent frame side is reverse painted and the white will dry clear. It will all be one painting.

I dug up photos from a series I did in 2019 and I think I'd like to revisit it. I was thinking about how we discover exoplanets, and wondered what another being might see if they located our solar system. Here is Mars as a little 3D pixel.

Hello! I'm a planetary science artist. I read research on Earth and other planets and translate the wonders of the universe into visual media. This is "A breakthrough (Europa)" celebrating Europa Clipper and JUICE making their way to study this incredible ice world.
