Many of us support this lie unconsciously. It's all made up. It's a game we have no choice but to play now. But we are letting the ones holding the reigns run things as if lives are just a disposable means to an end. We must remember that life and love are sacred above all else. ⬇️

...when our lives are regarded simply as risk or profit losses rather than the deeply meaningful and bright things that they are. Many of us succumb to this lie that we are only worth as much as we can produce wealth for others in our jobs... ⬇️

The chronic repressed pain of living in a society where that light has gone out, eventually rises in a fire and strikes back at the unending indignity of being obligated to keep paying and paying and paying (hours, days, years of our lives for the privilege of surviving) ... ⬇️

Instead of lives rich in meaning and abundance and connection, we experience every good thing that sustains life being further monetized as the grind entrenches itself in every day life and wealth is concentrated at the top. (The numbers are indisputable on that one.)

If we're honest with ourselves, it's not just a few corporations. This deeper knowledge that should burn like the eternal flame inside each of us, has been disappearing from our culture for quite some time, like a dwindling species losing its habitat... ⬇️

And it guts me to see how eager so many are to throw it all away so heedlessly, wrecklessly, just to shake up the status quo. Which I'm all for, by the way. This place is broken and corrupt and our wasteful, disconnected way of life can't last that much longer without the bottom dropping out.

The unrest and uncertainty and violence of that time leading into the Revolutionary War as well as the war itself and the lives that were lost, the families who lost everything... they fought for what we have now.
