Yes, and
Hi, thanks so much for working on gestures improvements on Android. I've noticed that the swipe up gesture is disabled when the swipe starts on the jump to top/new ephemeral button that appears in lower left when you start scrolling feeds. I wrote about the ux here with some ideas for improvements:
Hi @bsky.app I think I am happily migrated over here finally, but have been meaning to give the small piece of feedback that the ephemeral jump to new posts button when scrolling in feed is a really bad ux for lefties. Details below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

PS! I just noticed that swiping *right* starting on the jump to top button works as expected (slides out menu). So it's only scrolling swipes that are disabled when you start the swipe on this troublesome button.

Screenshots in light and dark mode. Contrast, shape, position, and size of button all make it blend in and cause these sticky interactions problems.

Thanks for building an app that is all around beautiful and simple. Hope this feedback helps make it even better.

@support.bsky.team Some design feedback on the tap to jump to top of feed button in this thread from a left handed user ☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼

Some ideas for improving this feature (which I think is probably a good feature if executed well):
-Center it like on the bird app
-Move it to top (middle or left)
-Enable scroll when someone swipes from this button just like swiping anywhere else on feed
-Change the button style so we can see it

Then, another downside of the button being low salience and right where my thumb naturally hits is that I accidentally tap it pretty easily. When I do this, of course it jumps me to the top and whatever potentially interesting post I was reading can be impossible to find again.

One reason that it's so easy to accidentally swipe on it is that the contrast is super low in both dark mode and light mode. It is the most camouflaged button I have ever seen, especially because it's in my peripheral vision. When the blue "new posts" badge appears, I barely register it.

First, when I'm scrolling with my left thumb on a normal sized Samsung, my swipe starts on the floaty button when it shows up, and scrolling simply doesn't work. Usually I do a couple of non swipes and get annoyed at the broken ux before noticing the button and being forced to adjust my ergonomics.

Also why hasn't there been more focus on his use of "energy" as a social construct? What kind of signaling is that? Or does he actually believe this is a thing?

Totally normal dog stuff

Oh no @bsky.app I take back what I just said about being functional -- now discover feed is not loading 😭

I have so much empathy for how hard it is to build and maintain and iterate on an app at this scale, especially with a small team. SEVs on 🦃 day are no fun. Godspeed

And for ftr I do not actually think that the aforementioned account ^^^ is *that* Dave Eggers because the real Dave Eggers would almost surely not have any social media account, even here, at least as himself.

Welp okay, updated and scrolling is mostly better, still a bit jittery on occasional photos, still missing some of my swipes, but much much better.
