Although there are very reasonable and thoughtful arguments for and against Police powers and defunding, it's worth remembering that most of the time they're not dealing with crime. Via @londonminute.bsky.social .

In a part of London today, I finished in Lowman Road, near the Arsenal stadium, and noticed how the light brought out the shock of autumnal yellow and green of the trees.

I was in Islington the other day and had a look at Upper Street Bookshop. They had an intriguing display of wrapped books. Great idea for Christmas presents.

One of the local MP's turned up and gave a rousing speech, which was warmly received. Joined various groups throughout the afternoon. Seemed very keen to show people his marrow.

I attended the @thisisyourparty.bsky.social North London Assembly yesterday. Not many photographs, I'm afraid (my old camera wasn't behaving), but there were numerous leafleters, both inside and outside (see alt-text for guide). Lots of local socialist independent groups, which was nice.

Just catching up on September's Grand Sumo and the final day was a corker! Onosato vs Hoshoryu. Hoshoryu won the round to make the score evens and so it was a tie breaker, which Onosato then won! Great #Sumo!
