I’m guessing either a blue heron, like the young one standing on my car a few years ago or a sandhill crane like the pair in my front yard. Easy to tell when they are in flight: the heron’s neck is curved while the crane’s is straight.

We lost our good kitty last month. She was also about 9 years old. First time in 25 years there isn’t a cat around the house.
