There was a small group of protesters outside the federal building at Alameda and Temple yesterday afternoon. Local law enforcement, no feds. This morning, it was nothing but national guard.

Josh Hawley can’t seem to wrap his head around at least two things. Not every protest is a riot. And some of us actually care about our neighbors and show up for them without being told (or paid) to.

I understand this. It’s the people who insist that pregnancy automatically makes an individual a woman who don’t.

The fact that a 10 year old girl is not a man does not make that statement “people who are pregnant are by definition women” true.

You’re right! When a grown man rapes a little girl and gets her pregnant, that child is now a woman! Calling her anything else is succumbing to the language police! Or, you know, we could just call her a person, because calling a group of people “people” is accurate.

I realize that you are jus trying to deny the existence of trans and nonbinary people, but do *you* realize that you are also insisting that if a 10 year old girl is pregnant because a child rapist attacked her, she is now automatically a woman?

Fortunately, I am inseparable from one.

Personally, I would go with “Am I being detained?” And if they say yes “I do not consent to any searches, “I want a lawyer,” and “I’m invoking my right to remain silent.” And then shut the F up.
