All good points. Left loftus road last night a bit stunned. Was somehow enraged and deflated by the score but not at the players, which is odd as many had an unusually bad game. watching the highlights bears this out with many having the opportunity to prevent or score goals and not doing it.

Difficult to excuse excitement at the prospect of a change in style and what you see on the pitch though.

It's why many have sporting directors or similar to ensure all depts are aligned. It's not a HC job to set it, only tactically deliver it.

It was the "sending" him into the season part. Seemed to suggest that others had decided that strike force and not him. As for no recruitment team recommending Yates and Jackson, who can say if they did. One played for Warne at Rotherham, the other he tried to sign for Rotherham...

Why so quick to absolve Warne in all of this? He has final say on signings. Yates and Washington as ex Rotherham look like his choices, Collins new contract had to be his decision. Who had Warne said no to in windows as he preferred to wait to see if he could get Smith from Wednesday?

Since the introduction of the recruitment team. It would be interesting to know who have we passed on because the top suggested target was not Warne's preferred player. Or who we missed because, Warne wanted to wait for a preferred target lower on the list. Could explain why no deals in early Jan.
