Super weird piece of trivia I happen to know: the child of John Knoop, who was the cinematographer on Kamikaze Hearts, is the person who "played" JT Leroy (fictional author) in their few public appearances.

I accidentally saw what turned out to be one of the few theatrical screenings of Kamikaze Hearts at the The Roxie in SF in the late 80's. Have thought about it frequently ever since!
