In the end we use what works best to get the job done and does the best job of showcasing our vision. I do miss shooting digital medium format, but I haven’t had a need for it over the past couple of years. I’ve come to realize that clients don’t care what you shoot as long as it gets the job done.

I hear you. I shot Sony for almost a decade but switched to Nikon last fall for my fast action work cameras. I had a falling out with Sony pro support and just ditched the brand all together. I’ve been shooting personal work on an old M9 and the jpg colors sooc from that sensor are incredible.

That’s for automatic industry standard color. Which is fine when you need to work with that space. In my experience, the images sooc from cameras with ccd sensors are much more pleasing and not as clinical. I use color checkers, calibrated monitors, etc for high end paid work…

Right, but the ccd sensors have great colors sooc. You can make any photo from any camera look anyway you want with post processing and by using color management techniques. That’s not the point. The colors that ccd sensors produce are vastly different than newer cmos sensors sooc.

Do it! The sooc colors that ccd sensors produce are phenomenal. You won’t be disappointed.
