For sure, there is a lot that can (and should) be reimagined when it comes to the early Muten-Roshi parts as well. You can trim out quite a bit from the early arcs and that without necessarily losing the charm. In a way, it would be more true to the rapid pacing that the manga actually has.

It's probably always a scary decision to make, considering how much fans seem to hate anything that isn't a 1:1 adaptation, but a reimagined version would definitely be the best case scenario.

I'd imagine it would be the Z Arcs, due to their popularity and spectacle, that I think people want out of these movies. As you are pointing out, character wise DB aren't too interesting compared to the more fleshed out characters these days. (Even though I do absolutely love these characters.)

My first instinct was to write that the early Dragon Ball arcs don't feel too suitable for the movie audience today, but Super Hero did feel pretty early DB at many parts and worked out well.

I feel like no matter what they do it would be lame. Make it take place after 4, and it's just backtracking in the worst way. If it's just a story somewhere in the middle of the timeline in movie 4, that just feels unecessary. I think time progressing was always an important theme in Toy Story

I'd like to think that I'm pretty serious this time. I have waited for too long and the wasted years do bother me quite a bit. I could have been pretty decent by now, you know. But instead of being sad, that I didn't start sooner, it's time to actually start anyway.

Goku vs Terriermon

Episode 17 was a wild ride, that did remind of the Chainsaw Man Reze Arc movie at times. It's chaotic, it's messy and sometimes hard to comprehend what exactly is happening, but at the same time, it's such a spectacle, and to see something like this from a TV show, is still exciting.

so things have been pretty good. Even with the corrections, you can tell that there is a certain feeling, that the show is just about to fall apart, but it never quite does (although the TV version certainly has).

I don't know, even with some of its persisting flaws, I find the ambition inspiring.
