I’ve seen multiple instances where ChatGPT does this. It’s so determined to please, that when given a task it cannot do, it will just start larping as an employee who is running behind on their work. “Sure thing, I’m just compiling the data and I’ll have that report to you by end of day Friday”

The alternative to it being money-laundering is that rich people are just like that. They think they’re smart and insightful but they never matured past childhood. And the artists that make it, plan to find those naive, wealthy buyers.

I try to keep an open mind about some of the really simple contemporary works, but a statement can only be made so many times before it becomes super played-out. Like “ok we get it, ‘art’ can be anything” but after the 1000th time it’s giving I’m-14-and-this-is-deep.

Ai image generators start with a noise map something like this. And they repeatedly make it look more and more like the prompt. These noise maps are just a semi-random arrangement of black and white. So the final image looks like it had no thought put into how things are arranged.

For this same reason they always have the odd lighting balance of always using the full range of blacks to whites, and it’s always balanced about 50-50, because a perlin noise map has a 50-50 balance of black and white .
