I think the point you're (deliberately?) overlooking is that legal avenues for responsible gun owners should be strengthened rather than suppressed, because the real criminals will always be able to source their own since, you know, they aren't exactly concerned about losing standing with the law..

they probably boxed the machine and those instructions 5 years ago and moved on without any kind of legacy backup plan

If the cleaner smudges the coating you can finish cleaning it off and use hairspray to apply a new layer.

It's good to do at least once but after that you usually don't have to go too crazy about it unless you start to see signs of wet filament in your printing. Some folks keep their filament in a drybox after drying, with a line out so the spool can stay dry and still feed the printer, to avoid fuss.

You'll be surprised. 1kg is a lot but you will go through it. Dry it (just stick something to support the spool on the bed and cover it with a bo, 24h; heat bed @ 50c) and use what you will, then put the spool inside a freezer bag with as much air removed as you can manage when you're done with it.

Nah you're building skills in a field that'll let you make whatever you want on some very powerful hardware, plus a potential job in that domain that'll keep you sharp with it. I'm going into cnc and metal machining for those very reasons.

Parts designed to be 3d printed, with a purpose, and a genuine intent for them to fit and LAST in their designed niche. These parts are everywhere, but they're hard to find when they're crowded in by figurines, scale models of scifi ships, and fidget keychains!

So if anyone knows a good place with a decent tagging system that lets you cut out plastic toys and impractical little novelty objects, I'd appreciate your input.

It's hard to specify this without sounding pretentious, but I'd really like somewhere that only allows "serious" parts to be uploaded.

Have genuinely thought to myself that with a bit of coordination and standardization on how we distribute print-ready objects for printers, the end-user experience could be improved and streamlined to the point they are as common a household object as tvs or microwaves.

Eh, if you say so.

If you get some aluminum rod you could print T brackets and corner brackets to make frames for shelves

Seems like you should put that printer to work and print some storage for your stuff.

Why are 3d printed buildings always the architectural equivalent to a cinderblock shed 😔
