From an outside perspective it definitely feels like it fits within the purview of emotional abuse, since it comes off as almost intentional neglect sometimes. But, of course, outside perspective.
Maybe the best approach is to state your limits and refuse to have them breached. Just zero tolerance.

I haven't really been keeping track of who individually caved, moreso just disappointed with the whole affair and knowing it was always going to resolve itself this way doesn't help.
