Angono is declared as the country’s art capital, and I’ve seen a few old ancestral homes converted into mini-museums. This one in particular is now an exotic food restaurant with an art gallery inside.

Dahil coding, decided to go to the nearest bar, which, coincidentally, is Antonio’s, one of my old clients when I was still assigned to Cavite.

I’m trying a shot of their local Spectre 431 whisky, which is smooth as fuck and is relatively affordable at 340. I need a bottle of this, stat!

The views were 10/10, the food and drinks were a 8/10, but the service was a 1/10.

The first dish was served 40 minutes after we ordered, and the last one (for my daughter pa) was served 20 minutes later. To think we were one of the first few guests there. No wonder wala nang pila, unlike dati.

Really happy with this plastic Tromba trumpet. The sound is about 95% there while keeping the weight super light.

Just got these over the weekend, and I’m honestly still fiddling around with the speed laces. But overall, these On Cloud 5s are a snug and comfortable fit.

Best feature may be that I can probably wear this with a suit and nobody would notice. We’ll see when I pull that off.

Ate lunch to celebrate my tito-in-law’s birthday. This place is gooood. Big servings, yummy food, and fast service. The interior of the place is so-so, but the location is perfect for travelers- those who are on their way to Tanay and beyond, looking for a stop-over. 9/10.

Trying to learn a new instrument. Challenging ang trombone because unlike the piano or the sax or the trumpet, there are no distinct buttons or keys to press- just a long slide and your mouth to approximate the notes. Let’s see how this goes.

Contrary to Gen Z fastion standards, I still am mostly comfortable with hidden/low/no socks when wearing low sneakers. Onitsukas, driving shoes, and Crocs would all fall into this category. It just feels more chill and laid back, especially since there is less effort to prep and wear.

Bringing a small camera along also nudges you to pay more attention to your surroundings. We always pass by this intersection and stoplight going home to the province, but the scene is always new.

Is kuya always there? Always waiting for our generosity? For conversation?

The great thing about carrying a small camera is that you're incentivized to take pics. Sure, our phones do have them onboard, but the allure of whipping out a digicam is quite different.

Always in a state of wanting to go back.

For the longest time, I've felt a sense of kinship, despite not being able to speak the language nor understand the entirety of their culture. But what I have experienced, I have deeply loved; perhaps I am a person not out of time, but out of place.
